Participation at the annual event of European Technology Platform on Nanomedicine in Portugal

29.07.2022

Vlad Ciobanu from NCMST, TUM participated at the ETPN 2022 conference organized by the European Technology Platform on Nanomedicine (ETPN) and International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal on June 20-23, 2022.

The event was divided in several sections, as follows: during the General Assembly 2022 were discussed the activity report for the year 2021, including the financial report and budget proposal for the year 2022, as well as the validation of the ETPN Membership fees for the year 2023. The action plan for 2023 was discussed and new working groups were initiated.

The event was organized simultaneously with INL SUMMIT 2022 and the participants had a unique possibility to share new ideas on their scientific work and results on nanomedicine or regenerative medicine in HORIZON 2020 and HORIZON EUROPE. Successful start-ups in these fields were presented. A Brokerage event on the Opportunities for nanomedicine in HORIZON EUROPE was organized, where different calls for proposals were discussed with the potential involvement in these projects of the ETPN members, taking into account their infrastructure and experience.

During the conference, Vlad Ciobanu presented the latest scientific results in the nanomedicine field “The interaction of wide bandgap semiconductor-based nanoparticles with proteins and living cells” with authors both from the Technical University of Moldova and the Joint Research Center of the European Commission:  Vladimir Ciobanu, Francesco Roncari, Giacomo Ceccone, Tudor Braniste, Jessica Ponti, Alessia Bogni, Giuditta Guerrini, Domenico Cassano, Pascal Colpo, Ion Tiginyanu.

On the last day of the event, a tour through INL Laboratories was organized, being presented the modern equipment used in nanotechnology, as well as some works with high impact in nanomedicine obtained at the Institute.
